Commercial Description:
Nearly solid black in color, this is a full-flavored complex brew of roasted barley, sugar and a hint of honey. Once poured, the smoky aroma melds nicely with the creamy head for a beer drinking experience not for the timid. Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

Ok this looks like a stout but the taste has this sweet sour chinese food thing going on...surprised and disappointed. Anyway will finish this bottle.

Bottled. Pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is mild sour wood, lots of black and red currant as well as some mild fruityness. Flavour is sour fruits, red currant, some mild burnt wood, toffee and dark dry fruits. Also some mild cocoa and roasted notes. The slight sourness is quite strange, but otherwise a decent brew.

22 oz bottle. Dark brown pour, light tan head. Dark malts, caramel, cocoa, roasted coffee, notes of dark fruit, citrus, and a bit of sourness. I enjoyed the beer, but overall it’s pretty average.

22oz bottle. Pours dark brown, beige/mocha head. Aroma is fruity, hints of lactose, some faint sourness and hints of dark fruits.. Flavor, some funky tartness with dark fruits, hints of nuts and lactose meshed with roasted malts. Not sure what the intentions were here. Beer just had too much tartness and sourness going on to make it enjoyable for the style.

22oz bottle. Pours a black body with a thin, dark brown head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Sweet coffee aroma. Rich and creamy dark chocolates and blending roasted malts with a nice caramel backing. A hint of citrusy cherry gets in there too more as this warms. Flavor is interesting for a stout. Lots of overlapping, somewhat sour cherries. Underneath it has a typical stout taste with some roasts, chocolate, and a slightly salty coffee. Finishes with a blend of everything as well as a long linger. Semi dry and semi acidic with a thinner than medium body. Overall, the flavor caught me a little off guard, but I still like it. Its more sour cherry than anything I’ve had in a stout before, but there’s still a nice balance of chocolate and roasts. Interesting and very unique.

bottle, pours black with a tan head. Aroma is dark fruit, cherries and prunes with some roasted malt. Flavor is roasted malt, a sour cherry ending with a dry roasted malt finish. This is lightly carbonated and mildly extra stout like, but has a nice finish where the fruityness comes into play.

Pours a relatively dark black. Minimal light getting through. Tiny white head with a hint of tan. Fades quickly. Rich, delicious aroma of chocolate, coffee and molasses. Fairly sweet stout. Flavors of roasted barely, coffee, semi-sweet chocolate. Thick body that coats the mouth. Prickly carbonation, more then I prefer in stouts. The aroma really had me expecting a ton from this stout. Sadly, the flavor didn’t quite meet the expectations. Pretty good, but not great.

Pours opaque black into the glass, with an initial frothy brown head that diminishes to the tiniest ring. Lots of sweet, bready, malty notes to the nose. The flavors are of sour dark cherries, yeast and toasty roasted malt. The finish is both sour and roasted simultaneously. The mouthfeel is medium-thin, slick, but fully complex with tiny carbonation levels shown. A nice foreign stout... sour, but full-flavored, and just enough roasted notes to bring the style correctly "in between" a traditional and impy genre.
