Commercial Description:
Nearly solid black in color, this is a full-flavored complex brew of roasted barley, sugar and a hint of honey. Once poured, the smoky aroma melds nicely with the creamy head for a beer drinking experience not for the timid. Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

bottle 3/14/05. Pours a deep deep dark black with a full tan head. Mocha smells as well as soy sauce aromas. Kind of reminds me of a chocolate bock or stout (Brooklyn). Roasted malts full bodied and absolutley wonderful overall balance. Didn’t expect much out of this beer but i’ve been pleasently surprised.

Pours thick and black with a medium brown head. Lots of roasted malt in the aroma. Also notes of coffee beans and smoke. Flavor is very and quite smokey. Smooth full body. Nice smoked bacon aftertaste. Decent.

Black in color with a large chocolate brown head of foam. Cocoa, roasted barley, chocolate, sour fruits and citrusy hops in the nose. Rich malts coat the palate with a silky film of flavors, including chocolate, cocoa, roast and grapefruit (hops). Pretty good overall but the finish is a bit sour.

Good Beer. Solid black with a good head that looked like the top of chocolate milk. Roated barley gave it the chocolate aroma and just sweet enough with the honey on palate.

Poured dark brownish-black. Aroma was heavily roasted, coffe, dark chocolate. Sweet flavors with coffee and chocolate. Some hops noted on the finish. Not a huge beer for the abv but not too bad.

Decent roasted aroma. Flat pour with little head. Deep garnet in color. Watery texture. Burnt malt flavor is accented with some bitterness and slight wine at the finish. Very average.

this is very close to an imperial stout in flavor and a.b.v. poured an almost bacl body with a chocolaty head.nice aroma of rasins, malts, and chocolate.the body starts out a little watery, but then the malts, honey, and smokey flavor kick in.this is a very nice stout.
