Good malty aroma. Brown in color with an average head that diappated. Tasted a chocolate flavor. Wnet down smooth enough seeing I’m not really acclimated to downing some dark beers yet. Good beer.
Re Rate: Had an aroma of pine. Dark red body with off white head that disiapated to a thin layer on top of beer. Good lacing left on glass. Got a hoppy flavor with a citrus grapefriuit flavor also. Refreshing cold beer. Man looks like my first rating was off or palate is differnt. tobias (155), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2005 On tap. Indian clay/brown hue. Malty, roasted flavor with a decent hop bitterness at the end. Drinkable. Thin, watery palate somewhat masked by the malts. Butterscotch. So ridiculously better fresh it’s almost a different beer. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2004 Brown. Wonderful, enticing aroma of butterscotch, caramel, sweet juicy fruits, spicy hop and a touch of vanilla. Then, suddenly, upon tasting, the beer just isn’t quite up to par. It isn’t offensive but it certainly isn’t enjoyable. A bit sweet. Caramel and biscuit-like malt combine with piney, herbal and fruity malt flavor. Watery texture. Not very good, but a lovely aroma. boto (1337), Granby, Connecticut, USA

Suprisingly little to no lacing for a head that size. Very mild aroma. Not offensive at all, just weak. With a good snort I get some caramel sweetness and a lot of air. The taste is just plain average. Nothing special, but not anything to go out of your way for. I’d choose it over a Macro, but not much else. meathookjones (245), Sterling, Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 16, 2004 This poured out a clear amber reddish body with a slight beige head that left some lace as it was drank. Aroma was weak with sweet fruity smells and a light hoppiness. The taste was pretty much sweet malt and overall weak like the smell. Body was light to light medium with nothing interesting going on. Not something I would get again with so many good beers out there. albert007 (409), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 11, 2004 Coppery reddish color with a light tan head. Tasted somewhat tangy with a hint of the skunk. Looked alot better than it went down, I was a bit disappointed.
