| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 28, 2006 Pours deep ruby to mahagony with a small amount of frothy tan head that quickly takes up residence at the edge of the glass. Aroma is floral and fruity hops, caramel medium roasted malt (cereal) and trace yeast, pine is noticeable. Moderately bitter and drying acidity, pine and harsh citrus hops attempt to mask the roasted caramel malts, some yeast breaks through, finish is alcohol. Medium bodied and dry, spicy palate. 505 (271), Echo Park, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a lovely long lasting amber head leaving behind nice lacing as I drink. Aromas of pine, light cocoa, grapefruit rind and a hint of toffee. Palate was medium bodied and a bit resiny. Flavors of grapefruit rind, pine, light toffee and a bit of carmel with a smooth lingering bitter finish. A very tasty red! hopscotch (5501), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Bottle... Mostly clear ruby ale with lots of big, white flakes motoring about. Huge, fluffy, off-white head. Excellent retention. Piney, chocolatey nose with lesser notes of toffee and grapefruit. Balanced flavor. Chewy, caramely malt backbone balanced out by what I assume is a boatload of Pacific Northwest hops. Medium-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and lackluster carbonation (shot it’s wad in that huge head, I guess). Finishes a bit watery, then very tannic. Moderately bitter as well. The grain may have been overcrushed or oversparged. Very satisfying, but the least impressive of the Reaper Ales I’ve tasted thusfar. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jul 5, 2006 Bottled. Beer pours a clear, medium ruby-brown with a small, frothy, off-white, diminishing head. The aroma is sweet and grippy: Malty with light notes of toasted grain, caramel and cookie; Hoppy with heavy, pointed notes of sticky resin/pine, moderate notes of apricot, and herb; Yeasty with a trace of dough. The flavor is heavily bitter, moderately sweet, with a long, moderately-to-heavily bitter/grippy, lightly sweet finish. The body is full, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is lively.
