Aroma is spicy, piney hops. Taste is well hopped and quite spicy, malts give some toasted and caramel flavor, just a touch of butter. Finish is bitter, short. Well made stuff. irishliberal (4), Tempe, Arizona, USA does not count | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 17, 2006 This beer had a burnt bitter taste to it. Was not a particulary sweet or tastey beer. The packaging was interesting, and will plan on keeping the bottle for show. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2006 Bottle: Tawny color, tan head, nice lacing. Nose of sweet plum and citric hops along with sweet caramel. The flavor is rich, flavorful with lots of sweet caramel and clean hop bitterness. The finish is a bit neutral, very tasty amber. eaglefan538 (2368), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Well, this one poured a nice orange to slight ruby color with a generous initial had. Lacing was good. The aroma was of resinous hops, somewhat pine like. Flavor was a balance of some caramel malts and definite hopping, somewhat like a DIPA. Mouthfeel was moderate. A nice beer. beastiefan2k (1603), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA

So here it is again a style of beer hopped up so its pretty much just hop-beer and not an amber ale. Pretty much I can’t tell between this type of "amber ale" and their "american pale ale" exceot fir the color. It does have a nice tea-like aftertaste. But if you want red hop beer go with this. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2006 Very hoppy aroma, with caramel, and that traditional amber aroma. Smells like an Imperial Red. Body is a red and brown color with a thin cream head. Taste is mildly hoppy (could be knocked up a bit), with a nice tea like sweetness to it. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Flavor was of caramel malts and piney hops. Not sure if reaper is known for over hopping beers but this one was borderline over hopped. Solid beer."
