anaheim1983 (111), Anaheim, California, USA Jan 9, 2006 Green Flash in Vista had this in their tasting...I guess the contract it now. Draft. Color was a reddish amber with medium frothy head. Aroma was complex hops with a tone of citrus. The flavor and finish was strong as the aroma and the finish was most excellent and lingering. this was one of my favorites every
Immy (1652), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Dec 20, 2008 Bomber. This just came back to my area - let us hope the Reapers are still as good as they were before! We shall see... Pretty pour, clear reddish amber with a nice off white head. Deep, rich nose, floral and citrus over thick sweet caramel. Nice caramel and citrus flavors, a bit earthy, but somehow does not entirely back up the promises the nose makes. Reminds me of a GF Hop Head Red, but balanced more toward the sweet malt side. Well defined orange and caramel finish. Good stuff. jrob21 (968), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle back from VA during T-day break. Pours a clear copper color with a playful offwhite head. Aroma is floral, caramel, and toasted grain. Finish is a surprising bitter hop one. Before that though you get some fruit and wheat like grain flavors. doubleo (1000), San Diego, California, USA Oct 28, 2008 Bottle says brewed & bottled by Reaper Ales in El Monte, CA. New bottling. Pours hazy brown red with a thin offwhite head, good lace. Smells slightly red fruity, malty sweet with a light earthy hop aroma. Tastes the same. Sweet and fruity malts with a bit of earthy and citrusy hop flavor as well. Medium body, good carbonation. hellbilly (1011), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Apr 28, 2008 either they are starting to make this again (bottles are showing up everywhere) or bockyhorsey is trying to kill me... very rich dark amber color with a soft light tan head and lacing that pretty much paints the glass. malty aroma with some sweet fruit, raisins, citrus, grass, light spiciness and some pine. unfortunately, the flavor is a watered down version of the aroma with a dry lightly bitter finish. medium body with nice carbonation and a soft texture. Numenor (818), Richmond, Virginia, USA Mar 27, 2008 This bottle is at least a year and a half old. Pure ruby red body with a nice white head. A slight citrus aroma with a bit of malt backing. Taste is very smooth, somewhat sweet with nice accents of roasted caramel, and light fruits. Ending is very smooth, effervescent actually. Very enjoyable.
