joshpiledean (194), Ames, Iowa, USA Jan 26, 2005 Hazy reddish brown, med. fluffy head, and some chunks of yeast floating around. Nice balanced nose of malts and hops, caramel malty tones and nice hops. Bitter punch on the first draw, and it continues throughout. Decent malt backing, if maybe a little thin, but with some nice malt sweetness. Hops diminish and smooth out as the beer warms. Good bitter finish, overall a great beer.
glkaiser (1029), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 3, 2009 Clear dark golden w/ medium head. Clear citrus hops with just a touch of sugary sweetenss. Overall pretty smooth and very drinkable for the ABV. Can taste the alcohol, but not overwhelming. Well done. Not sure why, but I didn’t expect much from this one and was pleasantly surprised. KimJohansen (5208), Copenhagen V, Denmark Dec 25, 2008 Clear deep golden with medium off white head. Hoppy aroma with grapefruit and pine notes. Hoppy flavour with grapefruit, pine and caramel notes. Also some toasted malt. mrhoppy (21), Santa clara, California, USA Dec 18, 2008 Beautiful billowy creamy head with excellent lace. Perfect clear dark orange color. Aroma is hoppy bitter piney lollipop a tinge of Belgium. Flavor light toast strong resinous hop syrup good body and balance not very sweet. Warming alcohol. Excellent feel and finish coating your mouth with aromas going back to your nose as you breath. Grade A IPA. rkuhnel (1232), Eureka, California, USA Oct 7, 2008 From a 22 oz bottle this poured a rich copper color with a good sized off-white head and good lacing. Nose is of citrus and pine hops with caramel malts. Creamy mouthfeel. Favor is quite bitter and is of grapefruit and the finish is long and bitter. Overall pretty good. marcus (1192), Sacramento, California, USA Oct 1, 2008 This copper ale poured with a thick beige head and a floral aroma. It’s very hoppy with lots of citrus and pine lending a familiar northwest hophead aura. There is also a tasty caramel malt base that leaves a thick finish on one’s palate.
