anaheim1983 (111), Anaheim, California, USA Jan 9, 2006 Green Flash in Vista had this in their tasting...I guess the contract it now. Draft. Just as it says,"The intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma will dominate at first. To complement, the body has a complex blend of malt and alcohol flavors. The ABV is 9.1%, and the IBU’s are pushing the mid 80s. This is an awesome big Dubble IPA worth Dubble its price in the 12 gallon jug I bought at the Green Flash. Perfect Palate TheBeerLover (1013), DC Metro Area, USA Oct 13, 2006 Updated: Oct 14, 200622 oz bomber. Contract brewed by Green Flash Brewing, for Reaper Ales, this beer is a classic example of "Double" or Imperial IPA. This beer is 80+ IBU’s, 9.1% abv, and is hopped with bale loads of Cascade, Centennial, and Columbus hops, then dry hopped with Amarillo. A no brainer for hop heads, Sleighor does not dissapoint. This beer pours to a brilliant, deep amber color, with a thick, creamy, white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is fantastic, with lots of big, pungent, zesty, piney/citrus hop aromas that flood the nose. The palate is rich and slick on the tongue, with lots of good caramel/sweet malt flavor, paired with lots of citrus/piney hop flavor. This beer finishes with more good malt and hop flavor up front, then ends with a very zesty, very bitter pine and citrus hop bite that linges with some peppery alcohol. Wow, remindes me a lot of young, fresh, Bigfoot. A very impressive hop cocktail of a brew, this is a great cocktail, and a wonderful beer to sip and savor. LooseCannon (660), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Oct 19, 2006 Hazy Amber color with full off white head. Strong hoppy taste and aroma with a bitter after taste. An oustanding double IPA. MilkmanDan (1937), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Feb 10, 2007 Deep amber-gold, nice puffy head. Nose HUGELY hoppy, traditional West Coast IIPA-esque blast of citrus and bitterness. First impression is a spectacular mouthfeel, incredibly rich and creamy, explodes around the mouth with luscious hoppy grapefruit. Bitterness is wonderfully balanced with chewy, sweet malts, some peppery spiciness there as well. Great balance. Insanely drinkable. Yum. Angeloregon (1898), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 11, 2007 From a 220z. bottle--Poured a deep amber-copper body with a nice fluffy white head. Big piny, resinous hops aroma. Well balanced with big gritty malts. Citrusy and floral. Big on the grapefruit character. I like this style of beer, and I loved this one! Where can I get more?
