A Mes rate: Cask at The Wenlock.
Awesome rich copper brown colour with a slim white head and excellent condition. Nutty malt with plenty of biscuit notes and some light but welcome hoppage in the aroma. Lovely sweetness. A good smelling beer. Flavour is similar with a slight dryness and really pleasing fruity notes. Lightly dusty with a gorgeous bitter hop finish giving it excellent balance. A bloody excellent bitter all round and easily the best I have had from Rebellion.

Handpulled cask at JDW Stanmore. Excellent condition taking a while to settle with a dense white head. Rusty brown in colour. Drinks a little like a strong mild but impressive bitterness comes through at the end and lasts all the way home. I couldn’t resist a few of these at only £1.09 a pint (end of local ales festival).

Cask, Far From The Madding Crowd. Dark copper, thick fine cap of beige head. The smell of a nice breakfast: oranges, fresh pancakes off the griddle and a little maple syrup. Yum. Soft warm caramel malt, gentle marmalade hops. A little sweetness balanced by a little toast. Plumy tart kiss in the finish. Just the sort of dark bitter than makes me all warm and happy inside.
