Not much aroma, a little malt and touch of hop. Medium to deep amber color. White head, no lacing. Fairly well balanced. Pretty hoppy for a brown ale. Light molasses nose.Starts light carmel, dry malt mid, earthy then a light lingering hop finish. A brown ale? I think not...more of a session type bitter
An interesting beer. Hooker (450), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 1, 2004 Medium brown pour with hints of red. Head left so fast I never knew it was there. Aroma is of caramel, malt and barely discernable hops. Taste is pretty much the same with a bit more nuttiness and an unpleasant metallic or chemical taint. Very thin, watery and... flat? Not good. Maybe the dog will help me finish this swill. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA

Creamy malty nose with some herbal hops and a smoky tail. The flavor is balanced with roasted and smoked notes. Unique smoky finish too, very interesting amber. | 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 28, 2004 This beer is only slightly better than the Red Brick Lager (which is a pretty disgusting brew). Be wary of this brewery - for I think they might be stoners. Their lager tastes like weed and this one just tastes so weird and different - but not in a good way really. They are not good beers. Since I classify not-good-beers in the subcategory of crappy beers, these not-good-beers are pretty crappy beers. Aurelius (2653), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 14, 2004 A notch better than their lager, although there were some off flavoring in the profile. Aroma is malty, somewhat hoppy with some light phenol and vinegar. Decent ruby brown coloring. Flavor is akin to the aroma, although more nutty. Malt, phenol, moderate hopping, mild sweetness, nuts and wood with a bit of mouldering astringency. Finish and mouthfeel were OK, but this just struck me as an odd brew.
