Strong aroma of coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is good. Flavor was very chocolatey, with a coffee kick to the finish. I liked this beer, but it didn’t set itself apart from other porters. Pours without much carbonation but eventually builds a decent 1/2 inch head, though it never feels fully carbonated on the tongue, and appears a little thin at times. Flavor of milky chocolate and faint char, some slickness on the tongue, finishing with a drier pasty malt flavor and a toasted bread note as well. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Simple but pleasant aroma of cold press and lightly roasted chocolate malt. Pours dark brown... almost black with a frothy off-white head leaving excellent retention. Lighter toasted malt on the tongue with some rolled oats, bitter chocolate and a hint of bittering hops. Creamy. Medium bodied. Finishes with a kiss of bittersweet chocolate. jsh12bama (338), Alabama, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Poured a deeply hued, browned, almost a charred apperance. Aroma is heady and inviting. The roasted component leads the way, with some cocoa and coffee notes, with a slight hint of cinamon. The flavor is more of the same, damn this is nice. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Updated: Nov 26, 20072007. The body is a mostly opaque, cola/cherry-chocolate deep brown with a light brown thin head, swiftly fading fully away. The nose is brimming with cold-press Colombian coffee, sugar, cream, molasses, plenty of oatmeal, light hops, chocolate, caramel, roasted grain and light smoke. A nice blend of many enjoyable scents beckons immediate sipping. The flavor is a pleasant blend of the aforementioned. Coffee and sugary chocolate lead, oats and roast follow up. Bitterness is mild to medium and barely astringent. Sweetness is medium to medium-high, well-played. The finish is roasty and full of coffee. The mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, medium bodied and just feels right. A great American porter from a not so great brewery. craftbeerdesign (755), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA

I look forward to it every fall/winter in Atlanta. This is by far Atlanta Brewing Company’s best beer... slight aromas of coffee and chocolate. pours a dark black with a nice tan head/lacing. medium body on the front of the tongue, but as the beer flows over the back of your tongue it takes on a thick and chocolate driven body. excellent finish - coffee, chocolate and a little bitter... stays with you. great for a cold evening or simply anytime. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
