bottle, from trade with goldtwins. Ok aroma. Roasty, chocolately. Got a good yeasty mealy scent. Little viney too. Clean brownish black color, small head that faded quickly. Little to no lace. Sweet bitter flavor, roasted grain, fruity, little sour, grassy, sourdough notes. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Good brew. Seemed a tad off by what I read in people’s notes.

12oz bottle, courtesy of markgugs. Thanks, Mark! Pours a murky, dark brown color; light tan head with patchy retention. Medium, roasted malt and milk chocolate aroma. Lively carbonation; medium-to-full mouthfeel: bitter chocolate and roasted malts; hints of creamy vanilla and marshmallow. Drinkable, lively porter. Medium, dark chocolate and vanilla finish.

Bottle thanks to goldtwins. I was very surprised by this beer. I was expecting it to be really chocolatey and smooth. Instead i get a lot more coffee than chocolate and a strong roasty bitterness mixed with hop bitterness that reminds me of a stout. I really enjoyed it but found it to be closer to an imperial stout than a porter and would be a great all around stout that i would buy year round.

Bottle provided via trade with shp555. Pours dark brown with an average creamy light brown head, somewhat lasting, fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (caramel, chocolate, toasted), light hops (grass) and light yeast (dough). Full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness.
