The nose is oatmeal, chocolate and roasted malt. The taste is ashy cocoa, milk chocolate, oatmeal and burnt malt with some bitter coffee in the finish. Medium bodied, though not as creamy as I thought it would be with the oatmeal influence. Still a tasty little porter. Thanks again Dan! Rustyham (597), miami, Florida, USA

Bit of a disappointment with a name like that. Bottle at Knightly spirits, Orlando, Florida. brewski519 (433), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Pours a very dark brown, almost pitch black and completely opaque with only the faintest of mahogany edges when held to a light source and a .5 finger tan head that quickly fades into a thin ring that lasts, leaving sporadic splotches of lacing.
Roasty, smokey malt aroma with hints of bitter dark chocolate, oatmeal, toffee, hazelnut, subtle hops and toast.
Full-bodied chewy mouthfeel that’s not watered down at all. Very roasted and bitter with some silky chocolate maltiness. Slightly sweet with a bitter dark chocolate finish. Very nice chocolate flavor with hints of oatmeal, roasted malt, slight burnt toast. Nice and toasty with some slight smokiness in the finish which is a nice compliment to the bitter dark chocolate. Very good. AR (437), Georgia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Sampled from bottle, a gift from Pyuke: Poured a black as night colour with a suprisingly smooth flow into the glass. I was picturing a bit of a syrupy run. finger sized tan head. Aroma was awesome, some coffe grounds, a little bit of toaste, and some noticeable dark chocolate. Taste, i tasted chocolate in the faintest bit. Otherwise, dark roasted malts, being high in ABV the alcohol was very subtle. And can’t forget that roasty toast finish. Awesome beer, thanks Paul! merlin48 (520), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Bottle pours a dark chestnut body with a skimpy beige head that quickly vanishes. Aroma is subdued, with some dark chocolate, coffee, and earthy hops. Carbonation is prickly and distracting. There is an oatmeal silkiness, but it struggles to mesh with the chocolate and dark roast notes. This works better when it has sit for awhile at room temperature. The flavors just don’t integrate very well.
