Pours black with a small head. The aroma is nice--chocolate and very light coffee scents. Palate is very full for a porter--more stout-like. Taste is a great balance of chocolate and some bittering hops. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Pours almost black with slight ruby shading. Nice 1 inch tan head with good retention and impressive & lasting lacing. Interesting mixture of flavors that start with charred coffee & biting chocolate. Continues to evolve on the palate with flavors of yummy chocolate, roasted malts, & a smokey espresso shot and a bit of tactile oily finish. Medium body with pleasant carbonation. Oatmeal presence adds to the nicely balanced, easy drinking nature of this enjoyable beer. Quite satisfying!

Black with a nice and frothy tan head that does last. Sweet milk chocolatey aroma with some cocoa and roasted malts. Nice carbonation. More chocolate in the taste. Bitter. Some smoke and thick expresso. Alcohol comes out in the finish that is slightly warming and has a long-bittersweet chocolate finish. Pretty darn good for ABC... easily their best.

12 oz bottle via Jimboweed (thanks!). Pours a near black with a small tan head. Smells like a milk stout with notes of lactose, chocolate, and a little coffee. Flavor starts out with the sweet oats/lactose, then some coffee, and ends with a bittersweet roasted cocoa. Medium bodied. Average carbonation. Smooth and easy drinking. Very flavorful.

Bottle courtesy of goldtwins, thanks again Larry! Black oily pour with a somewhat creamy tan head. The aroma is light, but roasty elements are there...some chocolate and a bit of coffee. The flavor is some dark chocolate...some sour coffee and some roasted malts. The body is a tad thin, feels a bit watered down...roasty and bitter with a bit of sourness. Not bad stuff, but nothing that would get me running back.

Bottle. Crisp flavor. A tad watered-down. Sharp, bitter-sweet chocolate predominates. A good beer. Would like a larger alcohol presence.

Bottle. Pours black (just barely translucent dark brown if held up to the light), with a thick fluffy brown head. Aroma is roasty, with a bit of chocolate and coffee, noticeable sweetness, a bit of fruit, and something odd I can’t discern. Flavor is both sweet and bitter, with an extreme amount of roasted malt, and a woody finish. Some oatmeal and maybe a bit of chocolate and fruit discernible; the oatmeal contributes especially to the texture. Somewhat astringent finish. Quite good, though heavier on the "porter" and less on the "double chocolate oatmeal" subtitle. A bargain at $6/sixpack, too.
