the first sip hits you strong and hard. the taste of cocoa and coffee are almost overwhelming. the texture is medium at best but the carbonation is quite superior.

Appearance: Dark brown beer, with about an inch of brown head
Flavor: A really tasty porter, sweet chocolate flavor dominates a well mixed malted body
Palate: Relatively full body, nice mouthfeel, a really solid palate
Overall Impression: I liked this one a lot, a truly quality Porter.

Sample from a bottle in the VIP tent at WBF Raleigh on 5/2/09. Multiple samples actually. Bottle called this the "Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter". Dark brown to near black pour. Short tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, sweet and roasted malts, burnt oatmeal and strong coffee. Taste is more dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, burnt cookie and dark fruit. Body is creamy and smooth with a medium to medium-full overall feel. More chocolate, burnt oatmeal, coffee and dark fruit notes during the finish. This was a nice surprise!

Bottle under the ’double chocolate oatmeal porter’ label. Pours an opaque very dark brown with good tan head and great lacing. Nutty, oaty, milk chocolatey, mildly roasty, hints of dark rummy fruits. And the body! What a rich, full, silky texture. Finally something from RedBrick they can really be proud of!

12oz bottle, got through trade, taste is chocolate and slight coffee, nothing special but again i’m not sure how old this is, could be a factor due to age.taste is pretty solid.

On tap at Taco Mac Metropolis in Atlanta. Poured black, slight tan head. Aroma was chocolate, faint coffee, and some dark fruits. Flavor matched, with an emphasis on chocolate with a touch of cherry fruit. Very smooth, which makes sense now that I see that there was oatmeal present. Easy drinker, and quite enjoyable. Excellent porter with more depth to it than I was expecting.

bottle, pours brown/black with golden/brown head. Aroma is malty, notes of dark fruits with light nose of chocolate. Taste malty, light bitter chocolate with a good dark fruit mouthfeel. After taste leaves good traces of roasted malts and coffee like mouthfeel. Overall palate feels thick and creamy from the oat with light bitter finish.

Draught, Taco Mac in Roswell. Opaque dark brown-black, small head with lacing. Dark fruit, chocolate, black cherries in aroma. Soft creamy mouthfeel but mellow body. A very solid and drinkable brew.
