I was pleasantly surprised with this brew. Looks great in the glass, nice head, thick feel and look. Great aroma of chocolate and roasted coffee. Tastes about the same. The aftertaste leaves you wanting more. Good, solid beer.

12oz bottle, no date--thanks to shp555 for the bottle. Very deep ruby with a 1/2 finger beige head, pretty good retention. Milk chocolate and sweet caramel dominate the aroma. Roasted malts and oatmeal are next, and I couldn’t really pick out much else. Flavor is more roasty with a bit of a salty soy addition, and of course, less sweetness. The dry finish gets a little too ashy, and bitterness peaked around a 3. Alcohol is masked just fine. Medium body is smooth with low carbonation. All in all, pretty good.

12oz bottle-pours a dissipating light brown head that bubbles and black color with red tint. Aroma is cocoa, dark malt/oats, some acidic, dark fruit-raisin. Taste is thin, cocoa, dark malt/oats, some acidic/earthy hops, dark fruit-raisin. Mild carbonation. Thanks to springslicker for sharing.

bottle from thebeercellar, thanks man. Pours a murky deep brown, almost black with very creamy tan head, very sticky lacing. Very rich almost milk chocolatey aroma, some roasty notes, a touch of black cherry. Mild chocolate flavor, oak, mild dark cherries, some piney hops deep below the malt flavors. Finishes witha bit of bitter coffee and a touch of the pine flavor. Body is pretty creamy, almost fluffy carbonation. This is really a pleasant surprise, with a little work this beer could be very good.

Bottle: Courtesy of TBC...thanks Matt. Pours a muddy brown with no head. Dark malts, coffee and some dark fruits present in the nose...medium bodied. Flavor consists of a bland chocolate malt spine, some coffee and oat notes come through as it warmed. Decent.

Bottle, got this in Atlanta and I liked it a lot. Dark pour with a tiny head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee followed by flavors of the same. Nice and rich brew with just enough hops. Nice.

Bottle from TheBeerCellar. Thanks! Pours medium brown with almost no head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, honey. Almost smells like a granola bar. Bittersweet taste of oats and a hard to peg down fruitiness. Medium body and smooth feel. Very nice beer.

From my backlog. Force carbonated, fizzy head and a reddish-hue. Sour and thin. Cheap cocoa powder with a slight bit of bakers chocolate. A bit of cherries going on in the background. If I try really hard, a bit of the specialty grains just start to climb out of the mess only to be beaten back into submission by that acrid sour character. A bit of cabernet-esque tannin going on with a slight bitterness of the hops trying to poke through. Avoid this.
