marksahara (79), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 7, 2008 On draught at Taco Mac Lindbergh. Pours a clear copper with minimal off-white crown. Aroma needs glass warming to increase nose, but still rather weak - hints of minor spice, but full of sweet caramel malt and a bit of biscuit. Flavour is sweet all the way through to a smooth and uninteresting finish. Definitely an easy drinker but if I’m going to look for a maerzen to drink, I’ll stick with other varieties. Low carbonation and medium body makes this easy to drink in addition to the unaggressive flavour. Again, decent, but not something that will stand out in my mind in the crowd of octoberfests coming out around this time of year. halstokes (13), USA Sep 6, 2008 I found it to be a bit bitter but otherwise decent. I know not everyone is a fan of Samuel Adam’s beers but, to me, the Sam Octoberfest is a better choice. unclemattie (1665), Georgia, USA Sep 4, 2008 tap@ Tacomac, Johns Creek. clear, deep copper. Earthy musty aroma. Hints of rust. Flavor has a bit of corn and lots of hops in the finish. Kinda bitter or an Oktoberfest. It is not bad, not close to stye in anyway. decaturstevo (1302), decatur, Tennessee, USA Nov 5, 2007 A clean amber pour with a foamy off white head. A bit of a brown sugar aroma. A hint of sulfur flavor on this beer just not what I expected from the aroma. Palate is solid but carbonation is foamy. My least favorite beer from here. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 22, 2007 on tap-pours a dissipating light tan head and amber color. Aroma is medium malt-peat. Taste is medium malt-peat, caramel/smoky earthy hops (English?) OK carbonation.
