Commercial Description:
Red Brick Red Bock is a local interpretation of traditional Bavarian Spring brews such as the Märzen or Maibock. Made with Annandale Springs water from the north Georgia mountains and both domestic and imported ingredients, Red Bock will show the balance and subtle complexity associated with Atlanta Brewing's other offerings such as Red Brick Ale and Peachtree Pale Ale. Long-time head brewer Dave McClure's interpretation of the style is a rich red brew with strong maltiness accented by subtle hints of caramel and spiced nicely with European hops; the perfect warm-up for the last cold days of the season. No more than 100 barrels of this brew will be produced, and it will only be available in Georgia on draft. Fear not, however, as it will be available at the airport for those just passing through our fair state.

Pours a dark copper ruby with a thin lightly lacing off-white head. Has a soft grainy malty aroma with a touch of lager yeast. Sweet malty caramel body has some sticky noble green hoppiness and a touch of lager yeast with a dry filling finish. I don’t know what it is, but for its style it’s way too filling. I had trouble finishing the whole pint. It’s nice to see Atlanta Brewing coming out with some new stuff though.

Dark amber body. The aroma of toasted caramel and roasted nuts. The taste was very sweet. There was toasted caramel and funky metal. Finishes with some bubblegum.

Poured a clear ruby color with a thin tan head. Roasted malt aroma and brown sugar. Flavors of caramel, roasted malt with a mild bitter finish. Medium to full body. Very filling.

Hand bottled 12 oz sample from Lou18. Rich amber color with a small, off white head. Aroma is sweet malts and light hops. Taste is malty without being too sweet. Flavors of caramel, grape and tobacco. Nice stuff.

From a growler @ Noogfest 05. Brownish red copper, minimal head. Caramel & toast aroma, with a hint of cinnamon. Cola-ish carbonation. Nicely sweet throughout, with notes of bubblegum, toffee and chocolate.

Pours with a deep amber body topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slighty sweet and malty with a nice caramel note and an underlying hoppy bitterness. Medium bodied, smooth and slighlty dry.

The body is a dark reddish brown with a nice head that laces. The liquid is a bit sticky and it follows with the sweet malty body. This is an extremely rich bock, as heavy-bodied and rich as a stout. But the brewery doesn’t claim it to be a good example of the style, but a local take on the style, so you can take points off for that. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed it and think it the best thing they’ve brewed so far, but I haven’t had the amped up Winter Ale yet either.
