| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 10, 2009 On draft at taco mac decatur. Clear piss yellow with fair wispy white head. Nose of butter and faint wheatiness. Flavor is sweet, but not horribly so, with large amounts of creamed corn. Actually, one of the more enjoyable hellers I’ve had. But that still isn’t saying all that much. unclemattie (2427), Georgia, USA

Looks like a pale lager. aroma of pale malts. flavor is sharp, dry malt. lots of pumpkin seed flavor. Smooth, creamy, and easy drinking. it is not what I expected in a rye ale. Still pretty good for a summer time brew. 4,2,7,4,13. 19 Jun 09 daknole (2981), Plantation, Florida, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Appearance: Pours out a clear, golden body with a thin, wispy, white head. Lightly effervescent.
Smell: Malty, sweetish nose of faintly bready and pilsner malts. Slender notes of spicy, flowery hops as well as the zesty, spicy rye. Light hints of fruit and alcohol.
Taste: Rather sweet, delicately bready European malts in the fore with, perhaps, a touch of grainy pils malt thrown in. Restrained spicy rye character. Faint fruitiness. Floral, lightly spicy hops with a medium amount of clean bitterness. Slight showing of alcohol. The graininess persists into the drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium, though crisp carbonation. Very slightly stickiness to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Maybe, maybe it’s just me, but this seems very much like the Helles Bock they released earlier in the year, except with a small addition of rye added to the recipe. One on hand, that makes for a rather anti-climactic finish to Taco Mac’s 30th Anniversary beers, but, on the other, it’s far more season-appropriate for the hot, miserable days of summer of Georgia (September 22nd can’t get here soon enough). jhumphries69 (730), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Draft at Taco Mac. Pours clear yellow-gold with a thin (almost non-existent) head - lots of tiny bubbles floating up from the bottom of the glass. The aroma has a crisp, bready malt character that is grainy with a subtle, cereal sweetness. The flavor starts full of grainy pilsner malt with subtle spice, some floral hops, and some wheat-like bready malt notes. The finish is grainy, bready, and slightly bitter. The mouthfeel is crisp and strongly carbonated yet full-bodied. Overall, this was mediocre and quite disappointing. I couldn’t detect any flavor of rye. It wasn’t nearly as flavorful as a roggenbock should be - more like a Maibock, but even light flavored for that style.
