Commercial Description:
Red Brick Summer Brew is a traditional Hefeweizen style beer. We use traditional Hefeweisen yeast that imparts the beautiful flava and aroma, reminiscent of summer itself. Unfiltered to keep the unique character of the yeast intact. Golden and nearly opaque, this classic summer beer is beautiful in a tall slender glass. Garnish with a slice of lemon or orange on the rim of your glass.

Thanks to TBC. Yellow pour, almost no head, it fades to nothing and stays. Aroma is citrus. Taste is lemony, some banana, and a lot of wheat. Thin mouthfeel almost no carbonation but damn is this a session beer or what. Pretty standard for the style, but still good.

6 pack best before September 7, 2007 into a weizen glass. (Not all at once, of course). Pours a very cloudy, pale yellow color with some light floaties. A decent white head forms. The first thing I notice in the aroma is skunk. It’s not overly skunky, just a spritz. Just moderately off-putting in the mix of ham glaze, pineapple, and apricots. The flavor is all right. I like the fact that it’s so tart. It’s pretty light bodied and leans more heavily toward the tart citrus flavors of lemon or apricot than the sweeter banana flavors that may be found in the style. It’s refreshing on this hot summer day while I grill up some steak, corn, and potatoes. I do like that it’s not cloying at all and it is fairly tart. However, I think it could use more depth and maybe some yeastier notes, and it doesn’t really quench my thirst for a traditional German style hefeweizen.

Bottle from TBC. Opaque, pale body with a small white head. The aroma is sweet with light fruit and cotton candy. The flavor is moderately sweet, cotton candy, banana and apricot. Medium body is a bit thin with moderate carbonation.

Great Hefe. Hazy yellow, good head with an enduring thin rim. Sweet malty taste with smooth complexity. Aroma of sweet malt. Hint of fresh bread and stroger notes of citrus and sweetness in the finish. Good beer overall, nicely done Hefe style.

Cloudy gold with a wonderfully strong aroma of bananas, cloves and a dash of hops. Citrusy wheat flavor with a sweet finish. Very, very nice.

While I am not a big fan of hefeweizens this one is quite enjoyable. Citrusy with a full wheat background. A good summer offering from a great Atlanta brewer.

After reading the description of this and the retired Red-Brick Hefe, I almost wonder if I had that instead, but not knowing, I’ll rate this. Had on tap at a church casino night. Poured to a hazy golden color with medium white head that lingered thru entire drink, and left okay lacing. This had an aroma of floral hops, wheat and a hint of citrus. Smelled like a mixture of a Hefe and a Pale Ale. Flavor was more of the same tasty mix of citrus and wheat, along with a traces of clove spice. All led to a nice, smooth finish.
