2002 bottle, courtesy of who else, but kp: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a thin ring of tan head. Big smoky aroma has some roasted and chocolate maltiness and a hint of tart light fruit. Body starts with a touch of caramel malty sweetness turning more dry and ashy toward a bittersweet dark chocolate finish. Very drinkable and unique, almost like a smoked chocolate porter. This seems like it’s aged pretty well.

Thanks for this one Wunderbier. I think the aging has probably helped this beer. A weird sweaty sock chocolate aroma. A dark brown/black appearance with a moderate head. The flavor is chocolate, honey, and oatmeal. A bit spicy and overcarbonated. Not bad.

Update: I let this one sit for...dunno, 14 months? It’s actually decent now. Most of the funkiness is gone and the chocolate and oatmeal are pretty strong now. Way over carbonated still.

12 oz bottle, shaker glass. Tall, foamy, creamy, tan head is slowly diminishing and sits on a black body with garnet edges. Roasted grain malt (M); oatmeal presence; dust/chalk aroma is dominant. Moderately sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a moderately sweet, moderately sour finish. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. The bottom line is: do they try drinking this stuff before declaring it safe for human consumption?

black-brown appearance, small tan head. Aroma is somewhat weak, but consists of chocolate, nuts, caramel and toffee. Taste is a little thin, but full of flavor. Sweet chocolate and roasted malts, with a surprisingly pleasant finish... not bitter and the toffee taste lingers. Actually, pretty enjoyable for a beer that is 4.99 a 6'er arond here. This really walks the fine line between porter and stout, however. Recommended.

This beer was really nice to look at...not really bad to drink but the body seemed a little thin...Flavor was almost that of an oatmeal stout but just seemed abit weak

Draft at the Atlanta Brewing Co. A small sized tan head that contained fine-medium sized bubbles that quickly and completely dissipated. The body was carbonated and opaque with a brown-black hue. The nose was that of chocolate and coffee with a mild roasted coffee flavor. The mouthfeel was smooth and this was a medium bodied beer with excellent lacing.

TheDM and Hotstuff vacation brew 23. This draft brew was enjoyed at the brewery in Atlanta Georgia. I thought it neat that a group of local beer lovers had gathered together outside by a fire to talk and drink the beers. We got there late and had little time to sample, but we got a few in anyway. This draft brew was freshly made and only a week old. It poured a small head of brown colored mostly diminishing bubbles that left behind a good lace and a nearly opaque dark brown colored body with no visible carbonation. It had a mellow malty, coffee, brown malt aroma that I found very nice. The mouthfeel was tingly from start to finish and it had a mellow brown malt, mollasses and mild coffee flavor.

Not great. I don't like much of ABC's stuff. * Had this at a beer club meeting with many other beers, hence I don't remember all my comments - only the ratings which I wrote down at the time.
