Dark red-purple-brown color, nutty molasses chocolate caramel flavors. Not too sweet, on the thin side.

Started off thick, creamy and full of chocolate. Gained some light roastyness along with some astringency. As it warmed, the finish became very thin and sharp with some fruits. This seemed to be more of a porter than a stout.

This lacked the traditional wet dog taste of more of ABC's beers. In fact, this possibly could have been a good beer. Chocolate, hardwoods, coffee and a nice fruitiness (cherry dominate) are the basis of a nice robust porter or stout. It's possible that Atlanta Brewing Company brewed that wonderful stout, decided the people of Georgia weren't ready for such a wondrous lesson on the greatness of the black malts and cut it with water. Whatever happened, this beer is only a shadow of it's potential. While there's nothing wrong with the flavor, it's thin and watery. The same goes for the mouthfeel, thin and watery and a bit flat. The body is a deep blood mahogany verging on black that's actually a nice color, but the head is a bit fizzy (artificially carbonated?) and subsides quickly. Probably their best beer, but still a disapointment.

Bready, a little black olive, a little fruit, a little vanilla, a little pepper, a little cocoa. Very interesting flavor. Warming. Excellent appearance. Transparent dark brown with good label graphics. Raisin-stouty aroma. More!

Most complex and enjoyable beer at this brewery I’ve tried. I have to admit that I thought it was a porter though when drinking. Good malts, especially roasted/burned flavors that were enjoyable.

Dark brown to black in color with decent head retention for a bottled beer. The aroma is hard to define - somewhere between chocolate and spice. The real treat is in the flavor. Velvety smooth with a nice malty chocolate presence. By far my favorite seasonal to date (even beats Sweetwater Festive Ale). A great beer from a hometown brewery-who could ask for more!
