Great aroma, like swimming in a pool of grapefruit juice, but is softens into orange aromas with a bit of warmth. Huge flavor and a big bitterness, but it is, all things considered (i.e. despite the bitterness) a very nice beer. Excellent stuff. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 28, 2009 on tap at the old fashioned in Madison. Hazy amber pour with a good sized white head. Heavy orange citrus and pine aroma. Flavor is fresh orange and grapefruit, piney hops, and just a touch of caramel. The bitter finish gives way to a nice malt sweetness. Nice body on this one. Very unexpected and a damn good beer! JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 12, 2009 [Growler] shared at Skyview’s Lex/Larp Cellars Farewell. Pours a cloudy gold with a small soapy white head. Aroma is super dank grassy hops, reminiscent of crooked tree, citrus, grapefruit, crystal malt, and mint. Flavor follows well with more grassy hops and grapefruit. Guerde (710), Welcome, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2009 (growler from Skyview) Pours hazy light orange with a little white head. Aroma is just an intense blast of fresh hops, very citrus dominant, with ruby-red grapefruit, tangerine, and some freshly crushed mint. The taste is full of citrusy goodness, with a lot of mandarin orange, grapefruit, and some unripe mango. A lingering bitter finish with a medium mouthfeel. Another solid beer from Red Eye. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Pours a semi hazey but basically translucent orange colour with a medium sized frothy white head. Instantly piney on the nose, citrusy and noticeable earthy which is most pleasent. Red Eye is making it’s way into Madtown and i’m defiantely digging that! badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Growler courtesy of Skyview. Cloudy gold color with a large head. Very strong fresh hop aroma, heavy on the orange and tangerine. Holy crap... massive tangerine and orange flavor. It tastes like they crossbred hops with a few kinds of citrus, then zested everything in at bottling time. Bitter, but not mouthpuckering. Good sweet malt base. Lightly vinous. An absolutely bitchin IIPA! Skyview (4064), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2009 On draught at the Red Eye brewpub near downtown Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy light golden amber brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates to a cream top and excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, grapefruit, some tangerine, peach and just barely a hint of caramel malt, Taste is medium to full bodied, with an in-yer-face hop stew with barely any detected malt flavors. Finish is smooth, overly bitter with a citrus and even white pine aftertaste from the piloncillo sugar that lingers beyond the finish. If it is hops, hops, and nothing but hops, this one is worth checking out.
