On draught at the Red Eye brewpub near downtown Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-hazy dark golden amber brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates to a cream top and excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, grapefruit, peach, marzipan and a hint of caramel malt, Taste is medium to full bodied, with heavy red grapefruit an some caramel/munich dark malt flavors. Finish is smooth, semi-sweet. overly bitter with a citrus and a touch of caramel malt. A decent double IPA like the Red Eye Imperium except a touch or caramel malt. Definitely a tongue curler throughout without overpowering any caramel malt character.
