Draft at OF. Opaque black with a solid foamy off-white head. Pretty solid for the style, certainly. Some lactic touches, sweet and creamy mouthfeel. Dry bitter coffee aftertaste which really holds the beer together and makes it better than average.

Roast aroma. White head. Black and rich on the palate with some alcohol present. Crisp and dry coffee roast finish.

Aug 5, 2009 [Tap] Sample notes from a brewpub visit in January 2009. Pours a very dark black color with very little head. Aroma is heavily roasted and burnt. The taste is a little more interesting. Bitter chocolate, coffee, vanilla, almond and smoky notes are all in there. Mouthfeel is smooth. Carbonation is about average. A pretty solid offering from Red Eye.

Jul 26, 2009 Tap at the brewery. Very dark pour with a little red peeking through. Sweet, roasty aroma. Slight coffee flavor, very smooth and pretty damn good.

Apr 27, 2009 Dark brown, brownish black- mother don’t come back. leave me behind ot think this is what i’ve believed it to be. The head is small. Me i feel im flying, just to find out my own head. Malty, rich and caramel coated. Tastey and dark chocolate notes on the palate. Filling however. I wonder when they’ll release the brown eye??

Mar 10, 2009 Had this one on draught as part of WinTour 3 at the brewpub in Wausau, Wisconsin. +1 for the name! Opaque dark brown pour with an excellent malty nose, bitter chocolate and mollasses, creamy finish.

Oct 18, 2008 [Growler] shared by skyview. Pours a clear brown with a small tan head. Aroms is loaded with coffee with some roasted malt. Flavor is coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and some nuttiness. Moderate mouthfeel. Good beer.
