Cask (handpump) @ Hillsborough Hotel. Very dark borwn. Roasted malt some caramel, a very unpleasant sourness ruins it for me.

[cask @ RBESG 2009] Sour roasted barley aroma with plums and some toast. Opaque brown with no head. Sour prune flavour with toasty malt, moderate bitterness from both malt and hops. Light to medium body, low carbonation, sour and bitter finish.

[RBESG, Sheffield]
Cask @ Hillsborough Hotel, Sheffield.
Pours completely black, no head to speak of. Aroma has liqourice, rubber, some blackberries. Low carbonation, fat mouthfeel. Flavour is softly tart, some raisins and lots of prunes. Roasted and tart, not really my thing.

RBESG Sheffield, day 2, Hillsborough Hotel. Cask. Dark reddish brown colour, no head. Aroma of sour roasted malts. Flavour is grassy, vegetable, bit of alcohol, raisins, though not sweet. Bit of sour roastedness in the finish. Not in very good condition I guess...

Cask (handpump) @ Hillsborough Hotel, 54-58 Langsett Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England S6 2UB.
Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light to moderate burnt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090417]

A Sim rate (Manchester BF): Aroma is clearly diacetyl. Sickly butterscotch. Sweet, but slightly off-putting. It’s like icing when really what you wanted was a pizza. Bittersweet, but not bittersweet like dark chocolate... the kind of bittersweet that makes you think you’ve missed the "best before" date.

Cask at the Market Porter. Fruity, lots of flavour, very quaffable. Some charcoal, nice dry finish.
