Bier brauen (210), Bremerton, Washington, USA Aug 30, 2009 A decent IPA. Not quite a NW IPA, but pretty darn close. I’d call it a 50/50 mixture of British and NW IPA. Good beer. brokephibroke (137), Mead, Colorado, USA Aug 16, 2009 Solid effort from Red Lodge. On par with Dale’s Pale Ale? No, but better than the rating. Fault is the residual bitterness, but aroma and up front taste is quite good. hezron (600), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA Aug 9, 2009 Resinous grapefruit with a bit of a pungent, cattiness and pine. Color is dark copper with a thin-white head. Flavors similar to aroma, sweet with a good amount of hop flavor manifested as pine and a bit of citrus fruit of some sort. Flavor is hop-forward, but there is a lot of sweet caramel malt with some toasted bread. I like that the body isn’t too full,.. it’s a little thin but I think that’s a good thing in this beer. It’s flavorful but drinkable. HonkeyBra (1264), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 7, 2009 Copper pour with white head. Aroma of light bitter hops, some caramel. Flavor is somewhat bitter, decent maltiness with a very grassy finish. Medium moufhfeel, nice dry hoppy finish. Decent IPA. JFGrind (1346), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 6, 2009 Wonderful aroma, but body and bitterness on the thin side. Woohoo! for Montana having a beer brewed in the state. DJMonarch (5966), Northwich, Cheshire, England Jul 9, 2009 From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 12/10/2007
Hoppy and fruit aromas. Golden coloured strong in alcohol and hoppy with a crisp and bitter lasting finish. timmy300 (199), bloomington, Illinois, USA Jan 18, 2009 this is a combined rating. this beer was availible both on regular draft an nitro tap the summer of 2007. the nitro was boring, but as it hid much of the hop character made ipa accessible to hop haters. the regular draft was a solid brewpub ipa. reminded me of a bigger version of snpa. i even went home with a growler of it. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Aug 20, 2008 Bottle: Clear copper pour with a large snady colored head. Sticky bits of lacing. Hoppy and citrus filled aroma with some decent maltiness. Not overly flavorful, the floral hops sort of give in to the matliness. Soft, grassey finish. Not the best from Red Lodge.
