Sep 12, 2009 Tap @ Famous Dave’s in Bozeman: Brownish copper pour with a thin off-white head. Decent bits of lacing. Mild aroma is lightly floral hops with a little roast. Flavor development is similar. Not much going on here past the earhty florals and light roast. Kinda boring.

Jul 20, 2009 Bottle. Poured with a small, off-white head that diminished to a thin film. Body was clear with a dark reddish-brown color. Very nice aroma of roasted malt. Light on the palate, slightly creamy texture with soft carbonation. Nice flavor - lightly sweet with a roasted edge that helped the beer go down really smooth. Definitely one I could have again, if not necessarily something to write home about.

Jan 18, 2009 on this one i tend to agree with many of the other raters. was not overwhelmed by this beer, but it was ok. definately earthy(see dirty) and sweet. kind of makes me think it was made from extract for some reason.

Oct 7, 2008 Pours a reddish medium brown with a light brown head. The beer smells malty and a little sour. The beer tastes of roasted malts with hints of hops and sourness around the edges of the tongue. My experience was that this beer makes the mouth taste a little fuzzy.

Aug 29, 2008 Amber-red-brown hue. Cereal-like nose. Very toasty malts, with sweet molasses and brown sugar notes. Grassy, earthy bitterness. OK beer.

Aug 16, 2008 Dark copper, clear, low head with minimal lacing. Straightforward nutty malts dominate the aroma and palate, subtley earthy tones underneath.

Jul 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear coppery dark amber with a lacy off-white head. Aroma of brown sugar, with a little fruit and spice. I thought I might have gotten a little vegetable initially, but maybe not. Medium body and carbonation. Lightly sweet taste with caramel, a dash of chocolate. Earthy finish.

Jun 15, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, dark reddish-brown body with a tiny, off-white head.
Smell: Aroma of caramel, toast, even roast, along with some spicy hops.
Taste: Toasty caramel maltiness with a bit of roast. Light flavors of chocolate and grains. Restrained sweeness throughout. Spicy hops with a medium, earthy bitterness. Drying finish with a final taste of grain.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Just a nice, pleasant lil’ beer.
