On draught at Sam’s Taproom, next to the brewpub in Red Lodge, Montana. Pours a semi-hazy caramel amber brew with a thick and lumpy off-white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aroma of multi-grain malt, some wheat character that has some slight fruity banana esters, flowery hops and a touch of cotton candy. Taste is medium bodied, lots of carbonation, with a smooth caramel malt and light banana flavor. Finish is light creamy, a slight metalic with a malted caramel aftertaste. At first reading the beer name, my first thought was this beer is to go with a decent German leberwurst (liverwurst) until I learned about the John "Liver-eating" Johnson legend.
