Commercial Description:
Red Oak is a Munich Urtyp (old style) lager. We begin the brewing process with custom kilned imported Munich malt. Red Oak is then is the hopped with Spalt Noble hops imported from Bavaria, the oldest hop growing region in the world. Before fermentation we add a yeast strain from Weihenstehpen, the oldest brewery in the world, founded before 1040 AD. Weeks of aging gives Red Oak the smooth taste its known for.

pint @ Harrisons. OK aroma, caramel, meaty, nutty. Tad hazed brownihsn orange. Good head that faded quickly, minor lacing. Sweet flavor, initial caramel quickly gives way to the meaty, nutty I was getting in the aroma. little grass & apricot too. Lite body, creamy mouth feel, sweet finish. Unique, I think it’s part of a signature taste I get from these guys. I had moments where I liked it, but that meaty nutty thing wasn’t doing anything for me. Kind of went with the pickle chips I had.

Decent nutty aroma, pours with no head and a reddish color. Kind of a tangy flavor, but decent aftertaste.

Pours a golden straw with good clarity and sustainable thin off-white head. Nose is sweet malt and corn. flavor of an amber, and a bit sour, malty. Good medium body with fair carbonation. Not horrible, but not great.

Growler. Pours amber with white head. Amber lager with oak taste. Fresh and refreshing. Not great, and not as good as good as remember from college, but drinkable.

Part of Charlotte airport draught sampler. Light amber with slight haze, a small off-white head, no lacing. Smells like a caramel bomb went off. No hops to be found in the aftermath. Sweet grainy crap like supermarket bread. Granular, strange.

Draft at Abbey Road, Cary NC. Pours a red amber with no head at all. Aroma is sweet and nutty. The flavor is sweet acidic and a little bit tangy, but still nutty. To watered down and acidic for my palate.

Draught, Taste of Carolina, Charlotte Airport
Slightly hazy amber colour. Thin head. Malty, caramelly nose is fairly straightforward. Lightly toasty accent to a largely caramelly palate. Clean but simple.

tap. almost no head present into a semi-sparkling amber body. always have thought that this one has had a bit to much of that nuttiness aroma. decent though.
