Dried pine straw bitterness. Malt is simple. Bitterness sticks out a bit more than any malt. Light bodied. Finishes with a bold hop. ChainGangGuy (2603), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, mahogany-hued body with a thin, whitish head.
Smell: Some mildly spicy, floral tones set against some simple, standard pale malts and their modest notes of caramel and grains.
Taste: Pale malts with a smallish amount of graininess and a thinned out caramel sweetness. Hint of apple fruitiness. Seemingly spicy, floral, earthy hops though with only a medium-low amount of bitterness. Teeny taste of pepper on the bittersweet finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: Well, it certainly slaps the sombrero off most of the other Mexican beers I’ve had. I’d imagine it would pair well with the Pollo Supremo at the nearby Los Reyes Mexican restaurant. Can’t we bump Sol off the beer menu and replace it with this? shp555 (1690), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Initially rather clean, it develops some character on warming up. When cold it comes over as a characterless Irish Red - and even suggestions of a coloured lager - but warmth really brings out this beers hidden charms. There is an attractive floral fragrance, and a sweet mouthfeel. I wouldn’t associate the term Amber Ale with a beer as floral and malty as this. charlotte (2036), Vanløse, Denmark
