Eight different malts and sixty days of aging give this classic Schwarz-style beer its unusually dark color and remarkably smooth flavor. On draught @ brewery. Deep brown color with a small but lasting cream-colored head. Toasted nuts, cocoa, and coffee both in flavor and aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Good beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown completely opaque color with a large beige head and some nice lacing. The aroma is light; some nutty, caramel goodness, light chocolate. The flavor is great; a rich roasted malt, some bitterness. sweet nutty and toasted flavors, caramel, earthy and rich. This version had a nice rich mouthfeel.

Draught. High creamy off-white long lasting head. Pitch black body. Sugary coffee caramel aroma. Light bitter coffee caramel flavor. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste.

(GABF05) Clear nut brown body with beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, caramel, light smoke. Taste is medim sweet, caramel, some nutty, fruity (melon, peach). Light body.
