Chocolate, milk nose on this black pour. The frothy mocha head was a bonus. Roasted yet sweet taste. A little too light in body but overall smooth and tasty.

ON tap at the brewpub a few weeks back. Nice looking as expected; dark brown with a creamy head. Aroma was not much; perhaps some lactose and roasted malt. Flavor was much stronger. Some roasted malt, meatiness, and cocoa; not too much sweetness. Nice beer, from a really solid brewpub.

Taster brewpub SLC 1/19/09-Pours black with ruby accents and has a huge tan head. Aroma of burnt malt and coffee. Taste of the same with some chocolate. A medium to full bodied stout was nice tasting with plenty of chocolate.

On tap at the brewpub in SLC. Pours black with a thick beige head. The aroma is mostly lightly toasted malts and some coffee. The flavor was similar; roasted and smooth malts and some coffee. Pretty easygoing and nice.

Nitro tap at Red Rock Salt Lake City, UT. Pours with a two-finger smooth light tan head, goes slowly leaving an excellent lace. Black color. Light carbonation, heavy body. Faint roasted chocolate nose. Starts smooth, roasted coffee/chocolate flavor, clean smooth finish. $3.95 for a 16oz. glass.
