douglas88 (1016), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Sep 26, 2008 On tap at Red Rock. Pours a light brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is very nice; lots of toasted malts here, and some light caramel. The flavor was very nice also; a smooth and very full moutfeel, loads of rich toasted malts, some nutty and light chocolate flavors too. The real surprise is the hops in the finish; they stand out to provide a pleasant balance. Very col brew. Ungstrup (11933), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 12, 2008 GABF 2007. A pale brown beer with a brown head. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. Braudog (3464), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Apr 14, 2007 Dark reddish brown, clear and crisp to the setting sun that’s blinding me thru the window. Lightly foamy head. Rich malty aroma and likewise, the swallow is rich and malty ... little to no nuttiness or bitterness edge here, unfortunately. This is the "big and rich" of beers ... malt, malt, malt. But it’s good. (#2794, 4/12/2007) smcd (363), USA Sep 25, 2006 (08/2006. Draft). The name here pretty much says it all. Not much to write home about -- except to say that it is a fine example of a classic style. Brown. Tan head. On the softer-side of carbonation. Nutty and caramel notes in both the nose and mouth. Could use slightly fuller body (was surprisingly light bodied in the end, which made it quite drinkable, but ultimately missing some oomph!). jimhilt (1494), Bow, New Hampshire, USA May 27, 2006 On tap at Red Rock Salt Lake City, UT. Pours with a one-finger cream head, goes slowly leaving a thin layer and a good lace. Clear amber color. Light carbonation, medium body. Hoppy nose. Starts hoppy malts in background, no sweetness, hoppy finish with lingering aftertaste. $3.95 for a 16oz. glass.
