tipsytoad (82), Jersey Aug 31, 2004 cask at the peterborough beer fest 2004. As the description states, a traditional bitter, dark brown borderring on red, with a complex balance of malt and hops, with none too dominant. very full bodied for abv. support this brewery as it has to contend with long established major micro Mc Mullens in rural hertfordshire. bittermansid (3), Scotland does not count Sep 7, 2005 Much improved over previous samples of it - above average. Nice colour, and pleasant hoppiness - malty too, but in perfect balance. imdownthepub (4312), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Oct 24, 2004 Cask Conditioned at Oxford Beer Festival 04. Amber coloured bitter with healthy head. Dry but still fruity bitter with a restrained hop note. Nicely balanced but still lacking an impact. A penny from each pint of this goes to Red Squirrel conservation, hopefully the animals not the brewery. maeib (4141), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Oct 4, 2004 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - St Albans Beer Festival. A mid brown coloured bitter with a warm fruity aroma. There is berry fruit in the taste. Very pleasant. Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Oct 8, 2004 Cask Conditioned, at the St. Albans Beer Festival, 2004
Hazy, deep amber coloured body with a grey fine grey head. Christmas pudding malts and ripened fruit flavour. A brewery everybody is talking about at the moment. There are two casks in the Wenlock cellars at the moment trying to clear. The verdict is still out.
