FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2007 Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a red-amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma was tart, tangy, sweetish, crisp and had a vague berry element. The flavor was very tangy berry with a lightly tart finish and an underlying sweetness. The finish was long with tangy berry. Interesting. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 7, 2007 Updated: Nov 24, 2007Cloudy brownish appearance. Has a creamy white head and very nice lacing, looks very attractive. Sweet perfumy aroma that is reminiscent of many sweet fruit lambics I’ve tasted. However, I do not smell any raspberries. The initial palate is very flat, virtually no carbonation. Not as sweet as I expected, but the tartness of the raspberries is ever present. Not sure if this is really lambic as the description implies, but I certainly do not detect any plain old beer characteristics in it like fruit beers have. Sweey attractive aroma carries on thru the tasting session and seems to affect the way I taste the beer. Finish is mild and not bitter the least. A very interesting and unique taste experience. This is one of the better beers I had the pleasure of tasting at Red Star. Red Star, a nice place to taste beer!
