Vertical Bacon Strips (874), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jul 14, 2009 Another successful beer run for my dad on a holiday has brought RSL to my lips. Poured out a crystal clear light gold brew, average white foamy cap and more random lacing than more low % brews. Also, a thin cap has been retained throughout the entire sampling. Hey! This sucker only has 35 calories! If I drink ten of them not only will I not be drunk but I’ll also be bloated and disappointed too. 95% grain and 5% sweetness for the aroma. Not totally flavourless but just as I expected: dull, grain and a weak hop. Very gassy, a bit drying that I think I’m confusing with tons of grain. Finishes with a light bitterness. As far as light beers go... well... light beers f’n suck balls. djd07 (724), Houston, Texas, USA Jun 30, 2009 Bottle as shown in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Pours a clear golden with a small frothy white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a pale corn malt. Thin mouthfeel and a bit watery but very smooth and easy to drink. Good for how hot Jamaica was that day. Enjoyed several that day. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 1, 2008 Bottle at Margaritaville in the Montego Bay airport: Pale golden with a fizzy white ring for head. Mild sweet pale malt aroma. Fizzy and thin. Papery flavor upfront with leads to a touch of doughy sweetness and almost no bitterness. Lacks character, I’ve had worse. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 23, 2008 Draft on honeymoon in Jamaica: Not a fan of light beers but this one was easy to drink. Not to shabby.....for a light beer. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Mar 31, 2008 Only in Jamaica can you get this to my knowledge. And it should stay there. This lighter version of Red Stripe is watery and tasteless... Bud Ice anyone? AWS9 (222), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Aug 18, 2007 Surprisingly enjoyed this over plain Red Stripe, though it may have been that Jamaican heat. Goes down very smooth, though that doesn’t mean taste isn’t there. Fairly watery, but it was perfect for on the beach. Definitely surpasses Corona as a beach beer. Caybrew (13), Cayman Islands Jul 20, 2007 this is freakin close to water! no real aroma, sometimes skunky (that’s what happens with clear bottles) igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA Dec 13, 2006 had this on tap many times at the resort. Honestly, I couldn’t tell one bit of difference between this and the "regular strength" red stripe. clean as a whistle, very light-bodied, enjoyed it more than real rock..much more. If one drank this beer in the US in the summertime, they’d think, big deal..is this budweiser or bud light? but it does seem to have its place on famed 7-mile beach in negril. I enjoyed this beer often.
