| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Oct 13, 2009 Drank on a hot day at the end of summer. I had a Jamaican-themed beer dinner by the pool and paired this with grilled plantains and coconut jasmine rice. Not bad... Out of the oil can bottle and into a tall glass it pours a thin, pale straw with much carbonation and a quite decent frothy white head and slight lacing. Not much aroma, sweet corn, rice, and maybe a slight herbal (jasmine) hint. The taste is medium-dry, but has a sweet finish with just a hint of spice from whatever inkling of hops may exist. Cornmeal and sticky rice flavors follow. The mouthfeel is rather thin, but not watery and highly carbonated all leading to a sweet, refreshing finish. Nothing special, but I, like many, have fond high school memories of this beer and the relaxing, fun Jamaican spirit it imparts.
