greedycheater (73), Oklahoma, USA Mar 19, 2008 This is a complicated specimen. On the surface there is nothing special about this beer - an aroma that is barely noticable, an appearance similar to that of any mass produced American lager and an almost non-descript taste to match. However, this highly carbonated adult beverage has one advantage, it’s from Jamaica
stangger (91), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2008 12oz bottle at sea. I’m pretty sure there’s a giant brewery somewhere in the Caribbean which pumps out one beer into a dozen or so different bottles, and they’re all the official beer of <insert island name>. I’d say this is actually a bit worse than most of the others. bp_17 (3), , Manitoba, Canada does not count Jul 13, 2008 The bottle was better than the beer. Wouldn’t go out of my way to drink it again, perhaps if I was in Jamaica I would drink it Gary__ (26), London, Greater London, England Jul 12, 2008 Sorta boring arse lager. They’ve got some cool strong stouts in Jamaica.Dragon & Jamaica stouts. They’re available here too. Red Stripe does have legit street cred, I guess.Very subtle malty flavour and kinda dry. Its not bad lager :I’ll stick to the stouts for mine. Sandman2222 (11), Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 Golden pour, with not much character. Little bit of hops, sorta malty sweet. Much better than a bunch of the "economy" beer out there. I’d drink another if I was in Jamaica sitting on the beach somewhere. changeup45 (525), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 9, 2008 Golden colored. Malty, sweet, with some bitterness. A little light hopping balance. A bit watery, thin and only a little foul tasting. Probably better than quite a few other pale lagers. Not bad for the Jamaican beaches, mowing the lawn or perhaps slugging on the golf course but nothing very good here.
