Dec 14, 2006 22oz bottle. Poured a medium reddish / brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of dark fruits, caramel, light roast, and bananas. Tastes of dark fruits (some raisins and plums, caramel, and lightly spicy. Weaker body and tastes. Cool looking label and one for the shelves if not one for the high ratings.

Dec 20, 2005 Hazy amber pour wearing a light white film. Light doughyness from the yeast contrasts with solventy phenolic off notes from the aroma. Highly oxidized in mouth where cardboard beginnings turn into penny endings while light caravienna is disturbed by painting flavours. Almost flat bodied, slightly oily and dull texture.

Oct 27, 2007 On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Pours a murky dark ruby mahogany with a thin ring of wispy white head. Aroma of toasty, grainy caramel malt with a touch of cherries and Belgian yeast. Starts fairly full and toasty caramely sweet with a drier spice balance and a slightly blander doughy and bitter finish. Has some decent authenticity, but needs more sweetness.
