| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 10, 2004 Draft: Clear, rich amber in color with a nice and lasting head. Tasty malt flavors, yeasty, and a little nutty. Nice and rich hops to boot, with mild hints of earth and grass. Healthy bitterness. Overall, really balanced, drinkable and flavorful. I had two or three in a row and would've easily had another ... and another. snowtiger (106), Brighton, Colorado, USA

Body is medium amber.
Aroma is
moderately malty (cookie, toasted bread), moderately hoppy (flowers, orange).
Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Finish is
lightly sweet, lightly acidic, heavily bitter.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
New brewer, new recipe. And hey, folks, Chris got this shit right...definitely English hops in the nose, probably Fuggles, and nice malt texture. Aggressively bitter, but enough malt to keep me wanting another sip...a perfect quaffer. Well done ESB at last from Redfish!
