whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 15, 2004 Brassy copper body. Aroma includes honey tones, flowers, and hops. Low bitterness in this ESB. More malty than expected but good nonetheless.
JohnC (2227), Mission Viejo, California, USA Sep 18, 2003 Appearnce: This ESB pours a clear amber color. As with all of the drafts I had at Redfish, there was no head on the beer.
Aroma: I could detect a slightly hoppy nose, but nothing outstanding.
Flavor: This brew was slightly malty up front, with a slightly malty finish. The mouthfeel was light/medium.
This is a decent session beer. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Aug 1, 2002 ecrvich should’ve re-rated this one when he was drinking with me; I didn’t think it was too bad (but then again, I may be biased toward hoppy beers). While I did think it had a few flaws (mostly malt-based) and seemed a little watery in the middle, I really enjoyed the hop flavors. Sweet, citrusy, flowery, and gentle. Bitter hops in the finish provided a nice dryness. Very easy-drinking. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jan 11, 2002 Updated: Feb 7, 2004Draught. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly yeasty (dough), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin, apricot), lightly malty (toasted bread). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic.
