CaptainCougar (4709), Rockville, Maryland, USA Oct 27, 2007 On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Pours a clear effervescent deep golden with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of slightly sweet pale grainy malt with some mild earthy Saaz hops. Body starts with a faint maltiness and lots of carbonation and earthy bittering hops toward a biting drier finish. Ernest (4324), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 15, 2004 Draught.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is
lightly malty (toasted bread), lightly hoppy (herbs).
Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is
lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Gotta keep my eye on this new brewer, Chris. The aroma here needs to be a little stronger in both the malt and hop department, but it's the right kinds of both (big relief). Assertive bitterness keeps this to style, unlike many interpretations that are just too sweet. This guy can do nothing but help Redfish's line of beers overall, IMHO. jcwattsrugger (4272), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 6, 2006 on tap-pours a white head and yellow color. Aroma is sweet grain. Taste is sweet grain, secondary mild hops. OK carbonation.
