Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Feb 5, 2006 Bright and clear; deep amber hue; foamy, fairly lasting head. Crisp, clean, refreshing palate. Lively carbonation. Light body, but easy to drink (great session beer). Malts were on the lightish side, but they had some nice things going on, like big toast, nuts and light caramel. Yeasty dough in the background made things interesting. Surprising amount of hops, which I kind of enjoyed. Hops were flowery, grassy, citrusy (orange, lemon, grapefruit) and rather bitter (laden with pine). Tasty beer that just might appeal to a wide audience. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 3, 2006 Draught, Redfish.
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted grain, cookies), moderately hoppy (apricot, grapefruit).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Could either use a little less bittering hops or more malt. Still, a solid quaffing offering.
