enjoying this beer right now actually. its a little overburnt in the aftertaste, but its very good with good aromas and different blends of coffee and rich bitter chocolate.

Bottle. Black color with good porter aroma. Medium complex flavor with good finish. Had at home with barbecue ribs. Good combo.

I taste darkness and coffee and roasted malt and sweetness. This is a balanced porter, except one complaint: the mouthfeel is thin.

Dark black pour. Looks relatively thin, with no real head to speak of. Smells like coffee. Nothing special about the flavor -- it’s a good, standard porter. A little hoppier than expected. Good beer.

Deep black porter with no head. Sweetish herbal aroma with coffee notes. Sweet porter with notes of cold coffee and licorice. Oily mouthfeel which surrounds the mouth, rich and smooth. Bitterness from hops noted in mid tastting. One of the good red hook products. Bought in Scotia NY.

Had on nitrotap at Strange Brew in Manchester NH. Nitro added a lot to the beer, as it seems rather pedestrian otherwise. Color is a bold darkness that would be the benchmark of the style. Strange aftertaste (some below say lighter fluid... not sure I’d go that far) knocks it down a few pegs in my book. Exceptionally smooth, velvety texture. Initial impression of the beer is very good, but subsequent tastings have diluted my enthusiasm for the beer.

I’ve got rhythm. I’ve got rhymes. I slapped yo’ mama fifteen times. What does this have to do with this beer? Nothing. Which is about what I think of this beer. Drink it at a barbecue. Greazy.

This is a good beer in every way, except for the fact that it tastes bad. It has a full-bodied charcoal flavor, and finishes with notes of lighter fluid. I’d suggest you drink it at a barbecue, but that would be way too obvious.
