Flavor contains hints of chocolate, roasted coffee, and some sweetness. An all right beer nothing special as far as porters go. ryanknock (150), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 19, 2009 A really roasty and drinkable porter, with a great hoppy bitterness in the finish. Coffee, toffee, toast, almonds and slight spicy esters blend well behind the roasty and slightly sweet chocolate profile. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2008 Chocolate from the bottle not much from the glass on the nose. Light brown by porter standards. Light chocolate no coffee to speak of a bit of a sour on the finish. A little thin and watery. A decent bitter but lacking in body, flavor, and complexity. A very average porter. cbeers21 (576), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Tap @ brewery. Good looking pour with decent mocha head. Nice toasty aromas, dusty pine hops and burnt coffee highlight the aroma. Nice chewy roasted malty body with light caramel and vanilla touches. Fairly well constructed and a tasty brew overall, not outsanding for the style, but solid all around. PattyBoy (302), North Liberty, Iowa, USA
