Pours dark dark brown with a tan head. Smells of coffee and dried fruit. Its a good dark porter, all the flavors of a stout are there, just a bit more subdued, the chocolate, the coffee and the dried fruit. The mouth feel is somehow creamy yet thin at the same time. Weird. I usually have medium expectations from Red Hook and this is exactly what I was expecting. A solid brew.

Had this out of the NITRO tap. Black as pitch, creamy tan head. Tastes like coffee. For all its richness in flavor it drinks like water. I think its great cus I might wanna drink more than 1 of them before getting "full".

Much more creamy than I like in a porter and very little mouth feel to satisfy me.

Black in color with a tan head. I particularly like this porter for its burnt flavor. M ore reminiscent of a stout... which is why I like it.

Stout smell, thin light stout black pour and color. Feels and tasts slightly watery. Sweet and malty, only lightly roasted. More of a milky, or milky choc taste with water and malted hops. Not bad, but definitely not impressive. Very easy to drink, almost too easy. Nice roastly aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a rich brown that allows some light through. A tan head with some head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, smoke and dark cocoa. Taste is slightly acrid with notes of toffee, bitter chocolate and slight ashy character. The body is medium with a very dry finish that lingers a bit. Decent porter but not outstanding.

pours black with a thin off white head. Coffee and malts in the aroma. Flavor was similar with a bit of toffee. Lightly carbonated, kind of thin. Decent.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a black body with red-brown hue and thin off-white head. Roasted malt aroma with hints of coffee. Medium body with strong roasted malt flavors and a sweet coffee finish. Aftertaste is a little metallic and earthy.
