i dont even know why i’m bothering to rate this beer. red hook has never put out anything i’ve remotely enjoyed drinking. i guess i’m just doing this for my records. a weak example of a weak style. the only saving grace is the surprising 5.77 abv.

Golden blonde color is perfect match for this brew. Aroma is slightly hoppy with malty tones. Taste is clean, with light hops, somewhat consistent with other Red Hooks, yet with a lighter flavor. Easy to drink and finished clean.

Pours a two-finger white head that fades quickly leaving a good lace. Chrystal clear amber color. No nose. Good carbonation and light-medium bodied. Starts with hints of sweetness some hop bite, finish is clean, would be a good summer beer. $1.50 for a 12oz bottle from Capital Convenience Concord, NH.

Keg at friends had after a Stone so it seemed grainy. Good spicy nose. Clear yellow, very light and almost wheat flavor.

Draught. The bartender told me I had to try this beer as he thought it was very smooth. That comment made me a little leery as I knew he wasn’t a beer geek. Couldn’t get a read on the smell...not a good sign. A little more gold in color than most macro swill. Buttery flavor...sweet but light. Boring...next up...Sam Adams Boston Lager....a vast improvement and step up.
