Thin malty body with a bit of hoppiness. Disappointing. Flat finish, some metal in the finish. This bear began much better than it ended. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Clear orange/amber coloured body with a very thin slightly off-white head. Some bubbles rise from the bottom, but not many. Aroma of fresh hops, some malt, a bunch of nuts and a little spice. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with a prolonged nutty and yeastie flavour with an aftertaste of pure bread. Somewhat complex up front fading to a quick one-dimensional flavour that lasts and lasts. Overall, not a great beer - definitely one that could be passed up for better seasonals. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia, bottled on 04.February.2008, drunk on 17-March-2008. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Light amber with a very thin white head. Aroma is a light maltiness, very light caramel. Taste is a light malty sweetness, and a very light hoppiness, light fruit. Pretty uneventful. Rynoplasty (547), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Light orange pour. Thin white head that does lace nicely. Grassy aroma. Sweet wheaty taste on the front end. Soapy, bitter finish. Don’t think I’d buy it again. Cybercat (826), Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Color is a beautiful clear reddish-amber, with a little bit of head that persists somewhat. Aroma is not strong, but it is invitingly malty and spicy. Flavor is mainly malty with strong overtones of spice, mostly cinnamon and cloves. Smooth and refreshing, lively and zingy, this is a beer for sipping and savoring. gsmitty80 (653), Washington DC, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Has a clean crisp amber taste with the normally heavy but smooth red hook taste. I think it deserves better ratings than it has gotten so far. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2008 On tap at Mister G’s. Decent. I keep coming back to Ambers about 5 minutes after saying I don’t like them because they’re boring. Well, that’s not true, and I think I’d have liked this even more if it weren’t 5 degrees out (F) when I drank this.
