| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 13, 2007 on tap at The Barking Dog in Bethesda, MD. really quite excellent. i had just tasted the Hook & Ladder Ale which is supposed to be comparable and hated it so the bar tender suggested I try this. smooth, soft buttery mouthfeel. subtle flavors. well carbonated. clear light amber body, sticky lace head. smells sweet and lightly fruity and lightly hoppy. overall just fresh. tastes real light. citrus hops, caramel malts. refreshing, soft - just a really nice, sipping, light summer beer. I really really enjoyed this one and so did my date (if you need a guy’s word to believe it). we both would def have had another one if we didn’t move on to a different bar. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 10, 2007 Draft. Orange/copper color. Mainly malty aroma with light caramel and toffee notes. The taste was the same with refreashing mild hoppy finish. KDorgan12 (169), Memphis, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2007 Bottle-Destin, FL. Light maltiness combined with light hoppy nice made this a good session beer. Flavor was solid but not overwhelming. I would try it again. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 6, 2007 Bottle. Poured clear amber with a quickly diminishing frothy white head. A lot of straw and grass in the nose, above some grainy malt, with some citrus underneath. Light cereal malt flavor, with grass and citrus hops. Light to medium bodied and a bit fizzy. Not overly terrible, but no real exciting attributes either. Priced right, however, like the other RHs. thefederalist (227), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 6, 2007 Draught @ Flying Saucer Little Rock 5-2-07. Normal amber color, minimal head that leaves some nice lacing down the glass. Aroma is faintly sweet, but not much there. Flavor is slightly malty and slightly sweet, some nice toast flavors in the finish. Drinkable, but plain. dunkelbitte (20), New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2007 Tap at Andy’s Corner Bar. This is, so far, my favorite Red Hook beer. It’s not overly complicated, but I could drink this beer all damn day. Nice amber color, smooth flavor with a clean finish. tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2007 I had this on tap at Old Chicago. A typical amber ale. I like this style, but generally have trouble distinguishing nuances and differences within it. Some doughy, earthy characteristics. Slightly grainy on the palate. Nothing offensive here. Just your average amber ale from an average brewer. pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 30, 2007 Bottle. Pale brown color. Not much head. Thin mouth feel. Once again, nothing outstanding to distinguish this beer. Doesn’t come close to the Black Hook Porter or Red Hook ESB.
